The Purpose of this Project
The
purpose of this project is to enlighten the world regarding
the "Comfort Women" and "Comfort Stations"
issues. "Comfort Station" is a place where
Japan forcibly took hundreds of thousands of Korean
and South-East Asian women for sexual slavery during
the Pacific War and the World War II. Due to its disturbing
nature, the issue has been long concealed from
the Korean society, as well as from the world. Now by
exposing the truth about "Comfort Stations,"
we aim to relieve the pain of the victims and
inform the world about the tragic cruelty the Japanese
Imperial Army caused.
Also,
we hope to get in touch with the fellow victims from
South-East Asia to discuss and find a way to obtain
apologies and compensations from Japan for these horrible
crimes. Diplomatic discussions will include how the
victims were deprived of their inalienable rights.
Introduction of Our Team
Our
team consists of seniors from Daedeok High School : Eun-Jung(17),
Eun-Ji (17), Hee(17), Ho-Sang(16),
Sang-Ju(18) and Chang-Sin(18). We did the bulk of the research, conducting polls and even
traveling to various places mentioned in the project. We
used computer skills to visit websites
around the globe to gather even more information, also
creating our homepage. We then met frequently
to discuss the authenticity and the objectivity of the
sources they had gathered. The coaches occasionally
assisted in translating the sources and refining the
homepage.
